John Updike Display

To mark the recent death of Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Updike we are currently displaying a collection of his writings at the entrance to the main Library.

While most well-known for his novels, in particular the 'Rabbit' quartet, Updike also wrote countless poems, articles, short stories, essays and criticisms. The New Yorker, for whom he wrote many of those articles, called him a "kaleidoscopically gifted writer".
