Short Loans / Study Week

Our 24 hour loans will be issuing until Monday May 26 from tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 5:15pm.  This is to accommodate students not on campus in the week leading up to exams.

Short Loans for Easter

All 24 hour-loan items will be available to take out over the Easter break from this evening, Thursday at 5:15pm. They will issue until Monday, April 28.

Short Loans for Study Week

From 5pm on Thursday our 24-hour loan items will be issuing over the study week (until Monday, May 20).

This is to accomodate students not on campus during the break in lectures.

24-Hour Loans

All of our 24 hour loans are now issuing over the Christmas break until Monday, January 7.

Students looking to renew 3-week loans over the break should make sure their account is clear of overdue items and/or outstanding fines.

This will ensure that you can renew your books online using your student number and Library PIN.  For a 'how-to' guide on renewing and reserving books online check the guides and tutorials page on our website.

Short Loans for Study Week

From tomorrow (Thursday) evening all items from our short loan collection will be issuing over study week until Monday, May 21.  This applies to all of our 24-hour loan items including DVDs.

Short Loans Get a Bit Longer

From 9am this Thursday, December 15, all items from our 24-hour loan collection will be issuing over the Christmas break until Wednesday, January 4.


UPDATE: Following a request from the Students Union our 24 hour loans will now begin issuing from Wednesday, December 14 at 4pm.

A Long Weekend for Short Loans

From tomorrow (Thursday) morning items from our short loan collection (including DVDs) are issuing over the weekend until Monday. This is due to the fact that we are closed this Friday and Saturday for conferrals.

24Hr Loans for Study Week

From this evening (after 5.15pm) onwards items from our 24hr loan collection will be issued until Monday week (May 23rd). This is to accommodate students not staying on campus during study week.

Get a Short Loan for Christmas!

From 9am this Wednesday (Dec 15) all of our 24hr Loan items will be issuing until Wednesday, January 5.

Please note that we are unable to renew short loan items, so any students not intending to return to campus during study week (Jan 4-8) should ensure they return 24hr loans before the due date.

24hr Loans for Study Week

From 5.15pm on Thursday, May 13 our 24-hour loan items will be issued until Monday, May 24. This includes items from our DVD collection.

E-Books Galore!

Almost 50 titles from our short-loan collection are now available in e-book format! To see the list of titles go to our Catalogue page and click on the SPD E-books icon.

You'll also see an 'ebook available' label on print versions of available titles to alert you. The e-books are viewed through your web browser and offer some handy functions:

• word/phrase searches
• export references to a RefWorks account
• ReadAloud tool for users with impaired vision
• download a title for up to 7 days for offline access
• copy/print within copyright limitations
• staff can link directly to an ebook from Moodle

With these titles we hope to increase accessiblity of core titles for St. Pat's students and staff:

• when you're off-campus
  
• outside of Library opening hours
• if all print copies of a book are out on loan
• if you have your full quota of books out
  
• and there's no fines!
  

All the titles require you to login whether on or off campus. For staff this is their novell login while for students it is their normal login (as used for everything Moodle, email etc.). If you don't know your login details please contact IT support.

Bank Holiday

The Library is closed on Monday, May 3rd for the bank holiday. Items issued from our Short Loan Collection from Thursday evening onwards will be issued until Tuesday, May 4th.

Short Loans Items Available for Easter Break

To accommodate students and staff not on campus over the Easter break, from 5.15pm today (Thursday, March 25) all items from our 24-hour loan collection (including DVDs) will be issued until Monday, April 12th.

When is a Short Loan a Long Loan?

At Christmas!

From tomorrow morning (Thursday, December 16) all of our 24 hour loans (including DVDs) will be issued until Monday, January 4th.

From tomorrow evening, Thursday, May 14th all items from our 24-hour loan section (including DVDs) will be issued until after students return from study leave on Monday, May 25th.

Take a Short Loan on Vacation!

From tomorrow evening (Thursday), books from our Short Loan collection will be issued over the Easter break until Monday, April 20th.

Short Term Loans

This weekend (from Thursday evening) 24hr-loans will be issued until Wednesday, March 18th rather than Monday.

24-Hour Loans Extension

From Monday, December 15th all of our 24-hour loan items (including DVDs) will be issued until Monday, January 12th.
